Improving Treatments - Improving Lives
Veloxis Pharmaceuticals (Veloxis) is a specialty pharmaceutical company currently focused on the development of pharmaceutical products in the field of immunosuppression as well as in other specialty therapeutic areas. Veloxis is based in Hørsholm, Denmark, with an office in New Jersey, US.
Veloxis uses its proprietary MeltDose® technology, which has been validated in clinical studies and through FDA approval of Fenoglide®, to enhance the bioavailability of existing marketed drugs, which could lead to lower dose, less frequent dosing and/or fewer side effects for compounds with low water solubility. Additionally compounds can be formulated to allow for a controlled- or modified-release plasma profile.
The Veloxis product candidate LCP-Tacro is in phase 3 clinical studies for the treatment of kidney transplant patients, with NDA/MAA submission in the US and EU, respectively, expected in the first half of 2013. LCP-Tacro is being developed as a once-daily dosage version of tacrolimus for the treatment of kidney and liver transplant patients.
Veloxis is listed on the NASDAQ OMX Copenhagen A/S under the trading symbol (OMX: VELO).
